Dana Air supports United Nations Youth Day Celebration



In order to contribute to the environment where it operates Dana Air has continued commitment to youth empowerment across the country where it supported the United Nations International Youth Day Celebration in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

 According to the airline, “Youth Leading Sustainability with special focus on eradication of poverty globally in 2030 through sustainable consumption and preservation,  the United Nations International Youth Day, is observed annually on 12 August. It is an opportunity for governments and others to draw attention to youth issues worldwide.”

The accountable Manager of Dana Air, Mr Obi Mbanuzuo in his remarks said, ‘’the present economic situation entails that we support the government in any way possible, to change the mind-set of the youth to come up with initiatives geared towards economic growth.  We are committed  the development of the youths in Nigeria and Africa in general and we will continue to partner and support projects that will serve as launch pad for our youths.’’

The project leader of Character and Success Project, the organizers of the International Youth Day Celebration Live in Uyo, Mr Gideon Ekanem, said “ this year’s event is designed to celebrate and promote youth activities towards global poverty and eradication in 2030. Also as part of our activities for the day, we shall massively mobilize about over 500 youth for a road show carnival and clean up exercise through major roads in the spirit of the celebration.’’ He thanked Dana Air for playing a leading role in seeking solutions to the problems of the society in which it operates.

Dana Air, through its charitable trust- Sri Sai Verdana foundation, has been serving as avenue through which the airline fulfills her cooperate social responsibility to the society.  The airline is one of Nigeria’s leading airlines, operating over 27 daily flights to Abuja, Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Owerri and Uyo,
