Airlines operating to some of Germany’s airports will be faced with
difficulties today as the German Union Verdi will not allow services rendered
to airlines. Services such as ground
handling, check-in and security services will be denied to operating airlines
to Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf and others. This is according to the Lufthansa
airlines' website. “The German Union Verdi has announced a strike on Wednesday 27
April for the airports Frankfurt/Main, Munich, Dusseldorf, Cologne/Bonn,
Dortmund and partly also Hannover-Langenhagen for ground handling, check-in and
security services, as well as a section of the fire brigades.
On Wednesday 27 April, flight delays and cancellations may be expected
for all airlines operating at these airports.”
Passengers going to these airports are advised to contact the airlines
involved to ascertain status of their flight.
